Meeting with WRA/WASA, April 2024
The Water Resources Agency (WRA), the monitoring and regulatory arm of the Water and Sewerage Authority of Trinidad and Tobago, is a key stakeholder and supporter of the SORB Project. Through this project, the WRA will receive several monitoring instruments aimed at enhancing the understanding of ambient water characteristics and assessing both climatic and human impacts.
The Water & Ecosystems-based Adaptation Specialist (WEbA), Anuradha Maharaj-Jagdip met with key personnel to finalize the specifications for these instruments.
Successful Data Collection Workshop at MALF Office
The workshop on Data Collection unfolded with enthusiasm at the Ministry of Agriculture, Land and Fisheries (MALF) office in Princes Town on Friday, the 19th of January 2024.
Introduction by Navneet Boodhai, Manager, Engineering Institute: Setting the stage for an engaging discourse.
Presentation by Bernard de Freitas, Environmental and Social Safeguards Specialist: Providing valuable insights into the subject matter.
Presentation by Roopnarine Siewnarine, Livelihoods (Agriculture, Farming and Fishing) Specialist:
Emphasized the importance of reliable data.
Explored techniques for ensuring accuracy and consistency in data collection.
Delved into biometric sampling methods crucial for identifying farmers,
reflecting randomization.
Discussed incentives for both enumerators and farmers to enhance participation.
Reviewed the Data Collection Instrument, ensuring its efficacy.
Facilitated a Q&A session.
Concluded with the distribution of certificates.
The session accommodated 16 participants and garnered a positive response.
The data collection exercise was initiated in March 2024.
